After eleven years off to Ghostface, the Scream film series brings great news. But with a good start, a slow middle section and an excellent finish, the latest chapter also bored.
Scream 4 is more of the same, but its makers hope the series black humor seems renewed, given the years he has been rotting in his grave temporary.
The truth, one missed a little Neve Campbell in the role of the victim that refuses to die, Courtney Cox as the story-hungry journalist bloody and David Arquette as the bumbling police archetypal horror film.
In terms of casualties and psychopaths, the director Wes Craven has added a good amount of fresh meat with Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin, plus brief appearances funny Anna Paquin and Kristen Bell among others.
Scream 4 begins with the usual preface of the series, modestly clever, with more laughs than suspense.
But he quickly launched, and the blood starts to flow, with the main event of the night: Sidney Prescott (Campbell), now a celebrity, get back to town to promote his book about his encounters with the knife Ghostface.
His arrival coincides with the anniversary of the first murder, and teens who idolize Sidney prepare to the annual festival based on his experiences.
Since then, Ghostface back again and the bodies pile up.
Gale Weathers (Cox) is married to the sheriff Dewey (Arquette) and moments of marital tension against the backdrop that the marriage of actors in real life was sinking while filming the movie.
The film is overly long, sometimes boring, until you get to the unmasking of Ghostface.
What follows is very entertaining, with a clever twist on the clichés of this kind of movies.
Scream 4 is full of nods to the audience about the conventions of the genre of horror and the aftermath.
Causes many laughs, especially when people talk about their place in the hierarchy of the regular characters of the genre and how this affects their chances of subrevivir.
And the best is last: the mockery with which Campbell says goodbye to his most recent tracker
